Sofia metro is the first and only in Bulgaria. Currently the metro has 2 lines with a total length of 39 km and 34 metro stations. The metro is constructed and operated by Metropilitan EAD. The first line is opened on 28 January 1998.
· Line 1 of the metro connects Northwestern and Southeastern parts of Sofia. The construction has started during the 1980ies and by 2015 is with length of 28m and a total of 23 stations.
· Line 2 of the metro is from Northwest to South of the capital city of Sofia. The sations of NDK and by Hemus Hotel are constructed during the works for construction and opening of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in 1980ies. Line was officially opened on 31 Augist 2012.
· Line 3 will be from Southwest to Northeast of Sofia. The construction of the first section of the line started in 2015.
